Being stuck inside due to recent events, it’s easy to feel bogged down now more than ever before. At this point of the pandemic, the limited errands that we are allowed to run fall into routine and don’t exactly bring much excitement. Little actions that we choose to take (outside of your normal schedule) start to feel like big wins for your day. Here are some easy-to-take actions to help you feel a little more accomplished and to make your days a little less mundane.
Get Outdoors
Neighborhood walks have become a saving grace for many, including me! If you’re lucky enough to live around parks, explore those too. And if that doesn’t feel different enough, explore a trail, hike, or garden in your area. You could also spend time gardening. Start that herb garden you’ve always dreamed, but didn’t have time for.
Cooking
If you have a food you love, try it in a new combination! I like to cook all 3 meals of my day to feel a little creative and take up a larger amount of time while still feeling productive for myself. Try new recipes from friends or your fav food blog, pick a fun theme for a dinner, or involve your family or friends for a socially distanced potluck party.

Try Something New
Pick something you’ve never had time to try and make time for it! Even if it’s just for 30 minutes, try to learn a nursery rhyme on a piano, paint a landscape of your view, adventure to antique stores, start a new collection of books or records… the possibilities are endless!
Switch Up Your Routine
If you can’t set aside time to add anything substantial to your plate, switch something small out to mix it up. An easy switch up: instead of a whole day of pampering at a spa, try a new face mask you saw an ad for online or paint your own nails for a change!
Reconnect with Friends
All of us have never been in the same situation more than we are now! Reach out to your loved ones and keep connected! Use this time to catch up with old friends who you haven’t talked to in a while. Try a different medium – go old fashioned and write a letter or organize a fun zoom game night/happy hour!
