Hello. My name is Shay and I am a new mom of a beautiful 4 month old girl named Jaelyn Skye. She graced us with her presence on February 6th 2015. I never knew the meaning of love at first sight (well except when I met my husband) until I first held our beautiful baby girl! Being a mother is the most amazing feeling in the world which most moms feel.

Now that she’s here, I need to get back into the swing of things. I used to workout at least 3 times a week with a mixture of Barre Method and going to the gym. Of course I did some slacking and got lazy once I got pregnant. Since we lost our first baby (Bella Shae) last January, I was considered high risk so they told me to stick to walking which I did a lot of due to the job I had.

As much as I love her. the one sacrifice I made for Jaelyn is letting my body go. Now it’s all about getting my body back to what it used to be. It is so frustrating putting on old clothes and having them not fit AT ALL. I feel like I will never be able to fit into my old jeans again because my hips have widened so much (IS IT EVEN POSSIBLE?!?!). I feel like now that I have a better handle on managing baby Jaelyn, I can start my journey to a new and improved Shay. Not only do I want to lose the weight, but I want to be healthier in general. Before I was pregnant, I did not eat the best and I really do not want to pass that on to Jaelyn. I want to be a good role model for her as well as feel good about myself. The hubbie has been great and saying that I am always “sexy” to him, but honestly I do not feel it. But thank you babe!

My best friend Tamara sent me the 21 Day Fix and I was like, “Sure why not.” She told me that it wouldn’t take up too much time during the day and that it was low impact. I have really weak knees and too much pressure on them tends to cause a lot of pain, so I thought to myself, “How perfect!”

So this week is the first week I have started working out with 21 Day Fix. I must say now I know exactly what they mean when they say, “your body is never the same once you have a baby.” Even though I did not gain much weight during the pregnancy (25 lbs), once I stopped breast feeding, the weight around my belly has gotten bigger and tighter…..ECK! I’m so not used to it!

Yesterday I did the 21 Day Fix Total Cardio Workout and man was I sweating like I’ve never sweat before. Although it was only 30 minutes with some breaks in between, it was extremely difficult for me. Even doing a simple jumping jack was difficult. It felt like my whole body was dead weight. Not to mention some weird sensations where our baby girl came out of…;P

Today I did the 21 Day Fix Upper Body workout. It was actually a lot easier than I thought, but then again I had a lot of interruptions as baby Jaelyn was crying to be held and then to be fed.

Tomorrow I start the lower body which I am not looking forward to. My legs are already sore but I know I have to push through it! I have a goal and I will reach it! It can only get easier, right?!
