Have you ever felt the need to wear makeup to the gym? You want the post-workout glow, pre-workout. I understand. That’s why I am here to give you some tips on how and what kind of makeup to wear while you work out.
Tip #1: BB Cream/ Foundation containing SPF
This is a MUST when you plan on working out outside (hey, runners!). Products containing SPF just simply mean that they have sunscreen (the higher the number the better). You only get one skin so do what you can to protect your pretty face. I particularly like Bare Minerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Hydrating Gel Cream (retails for $29).
Tip #2: Waterproof Mascara
If you are a mascara junkie (like myself) then waterproof will be your absolute best friend. Waterproof mascara will stay on through the sweat and tears. I usually use a drug store mascara (it does not matter which brand).
Tip #3: Cream Blush
A cream blush will last much longer on your face during an intense workout then the powders and it will give your cheeks a natural color with glow. My current favorite is the Maybelline Master Glaze in “Just-Pinched Pink” (retails between $5-$7).
Tip #4: Tinted Lip Balm
When you work out you want to look as natural as possible, right? By using a tinted lip balm you not only give your lips a little bit of color, but you’ll also hydrate them. I use Maybelline’s Baby Lips in “Pink Punch” (retails between $5-$6).
Tip #5: Eyeliner/ Eyeshadow
This tip is really a personal preference. If you use an eyeliner, opt for a good waterproof liner that will stick through your toughest workout (L’oreal Infallible Never Fail Eyeliner-$9). If you plan on wearing eyeshadow, use a cream based shadow and set with a tad bit of powder. This will last longer and the powder won’t allow the cream shadow to crease as you sweat through your workout.
