Something as simple as a piece of toast can be dressed up to create a delicious and nutritious snack or meal!

What’s trending right now? Avocado toast.

But let’s not make just any ordinary avocado toast, let’s spice it up a little bit.

Along with a classic avocado toast recipe, I have 5 other varieties of avocado toast that are guaranteed to shock your taste buds – in a good way! Don’t knock it ‘til you try it!

Classic

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • ½ avocado
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • sprinkle of red pepper flakes

Mash avocado in a bowl, add salt and pepper to taste. Spread on your toast and sprinkle with red pepper flakes.

Strawberry & Basil

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • ½ avocado
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 3-4 strawberries, sliced thin
  • 1 teaspoon fresh basil, chopped

Mash avocado in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spread on your toast, top with sliced strawberries and chopped basil.

Banana & Hemp Hearts

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • ½ avocado
  • salt to taste
  • ½ banana, sliced
  • 1 teaspoon hemp hearts

Mash avocado in a bowl. Add salt to taste. Spread on your toast, top with sliced banana, and top with hemp hearts.

Hummus & Kale

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • 2 Tablespoons hummus of choice (I used Hope Foods kale pesto hummus)
  • 1/3 avocado, sliced thin
  • sprinkle of salt
  • ¼ cup kale, chopped

Spread hummus on your toast. Top with sliced avocado and sprinkle of salt. Top with chopped kale.

Lemony Greens

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • ½ avocado
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1/3 cup microgreens
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • ½ teaspoon lemon zest

Mash avocado in a bowl. Add lemon juice, salt and pepper to taste. Spread on your toast and add micro-greens and lemon zest.

Sunny-Side Up

  • 1 piece sprouted whole-wheat toast
  • ½ avocado
  • salt & pepper to taste
  • 1 egg, cooked sunny-side up (runny yolk is always better!)

Mash avocado in a bowl. Add salt and pepper to taste. Spread on your toast and add your egg on top.
