Today I looked at my weather app and for the next ten days it is going to be in the low 70s. That new information, and this weekend being Labor Day Weekend, tells me one thing: bathing suit season is officially over. Good riddance! Just because I no longer spend every other day in a bathing suit though does not mean I can give up. What about fall weddings? Legging season? Holiday photos? The end of bathing suit season doesn’t mean the end of BBG season. BBG season is a year round affair.

It is SO hard to stay motivated as the seasons change. Instead of wearing sleeveless tops and pencil skirts every day, I’m wearing chunky sweaters and skinny jeans. Nothing quite hides your imperfections like a big sweater and high-waisted pants. But for me the point is not to look just in my clothes, but also out of them! I want to look great no matter what I’m wearing! Whether it’s my bikini, my leggings, or my work clothes. Just because my favorite burgundy knit hides everything I want it to doesn’t mean I can stop now.

There isn’t some magic trick I can share with you to help you stay motivated with the change of seasons. As it gets colder, it’s more difficult to do outdoor activities like hiking and biking, and it’s easy to eat more comfort food to warm you up. The only thing I can say is this: it takes about three weeks to create a routine and just one week to break it. I am a planner, so I plan my whole week’s workouts out ahead of time. Having the plan written down in front of me forces me to stick with it. So stick with it! Don’t let the changing season distract you from your goal.
